Description
Sea moss gel is the most common marketable form of sea moss. Its smooth fluid consists of water and sea moss blended up that is then placed in clear plastic and glass containers. Harvesters then brand and market this by-product to potential customers. They also come in different flavors like fruits, scents et cetera. This is done to meet the different needs and tastes of sea moss’ enthusiastic and health-minded consumers.
How it is made Once you have the sea moss, the whole turning-into-gel process is relatively easy and fast to accomplish. To do this, you’ll need to let the seaweed soak in spring water for 12-48 hours. Afterward, you will have to pour off the water, then blend the sea moss with fresh clean water until the mixture becomes smooth. Finally, you can store it in a jar or container with a lid and refrigerate it, which will turn it into a more gel-like texture as it sits.
Other by-products Though sea moss is commonly distributed in its raw leafy-plant form as well as in its gel form we have discussed, sea moss can also be marketed by producers in the form of a supplementary pill or even powdery form. In many instances, however, doing so will also constitute other fresh herbs, unlike in its gel form where the main ingredient is sea moss itself.
